What we believe

Bamber Bridge Pentecostal Church is a group of people who believe;

  • That The Bible is God's written word, unmistakeably true and still relevant, helpful and comforting in today's world. "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:  that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." 2 Timothy 3:16-17.
  • That God the Father is the Maker of all. "...giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:  who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:  in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:  for by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:  and he is before all things, and by him all things consist." Colossians 1: 12-17.
  • That the Lord Jesus Christ is God's Divine Son, who, though he lived a sinless life, died as the sacrifice for our sins and that in His resurrection power He intercedes for us in Heaven;
    • "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16
    • "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." 2 Corinthians 5:21
    • "Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them." Hebrews 7:25
  • That the Holy Spirit is present now on earth to reveal God to us and to point the true way to God and to strengthen and direct us in our Christian living.
    • "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 14:26
    • "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth," Acts 1:8
  • ALL humanity has sinned but that whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved: by the confession of the mouth, that Jesus Christ is Lord, and with true faith of heart.
    • "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all." Isaiah 53: 6
    • "as it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:" Romans 3:10
    • "for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23
    • "...that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:9-13
  • God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinnders, Christ died for us. "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8
